英属哥伦比亚大学温哥华校区（UBC Vancouver）的 Master of Health Science（MHSc）由 Faculty of Medicine 下的 School of Population and Public Health（SPPH）提供，是一个面向临床专业人士的 course-based graduate program。它不同于 MPH 的 practicum-based 公共卫生训练，也不同于 Population and Public Health MSc 的 thesis-based 研究训练；MHSc 的核心目标是为 MD 或同等背景（如 dentistry、veterinary medicine）的申请人提供扎实的 clinical research methodology training。
MHSc 面向有意把临床研究纳入职业规划的 residents、fellows、junior faculty 以及其他临床专业人士。项目强调把 epidemiological and statistical methods 应用于 evaluating and conducting clinical research，使学生能够围绕自己的 academic and clinical interests 开展高质量研究。
课程训练包括 epidemiological design and analysis、systematic reviews、clinical trial design、data analysis and presentation。学生也可通过有限 electives 接触 health policy、population health concepts，以及 qualitative、program evaluation 和 economic evaluation methodology。所有课程的底层重点是 critical thinking skills。
该项目的一大特色是灵活性：它可以 part-time 完成，使学生在继续 clinical training 或 clinical practice 的同时接受正式研究方法训练。毕业后，学生应能在自己的专业领域中作为 independent researcher 或 research team member 进行临床研究，并在 health science centres 的 academic positions 或 industry research positions 中具备竞争力。
